Description 

It's the pits. Getting accurate pit depths and corrosion profiles can sometimes be a problem. Measuring on rounded surfaces or upside down could yieldunreliable results. 

Digital pit depth gauges from Exacto Machine & Tool are the answer. The gauges are designed for easy use, accuracy, and repeatability. Now available with a choice of bridging bars for different applications:

  • PGD-1200: 12" bridge with digital gauge
  • PGD-1800: 18" bridge with digital gauge
  • PGMB: 4" bridge "Micro Bar"
  • PGMBD: 4" bridge "Micro Bar" with digital gauge
  • PG1200SB: 12" Step Bar


Corrosion profiles can be plotted quickly and accurately by moving the probe and indicator along the bridging bar. Notched feet prevent the bridge from rocking on a rounded surface. Ceramic magnets securely hold the gauge in place -- a definite bonus when working upside-down. The left-handed scale measures increasing depth as the tip drops into the pit. A locking adjustment screw allows instant calibration to a reference surface. Thumbscrews facilitate one-handed operation.

Exacto 12" & 18" Cased Kit

Includes 12" and 18" bridging bars, molded, padded carrying case, and digital pit depth gauge. Also available with dial pit depth gauge. You can also buy the case by itself if you already have the PGD-1200 and PGD-1800 items.

The Micro Bar 4" Exacto Pit Depth Gauge with a 4" Bridging Bar is currently used heavily by oil, gas and water pipeline inspection companies to determine pipe integrity.
