NTG WatchdogCP Mesh™ Remote
Monitoring System for Pipelines

Wireless Sensors Eliminate Lightning Damage to Rectifier RMU’s.

Overview

NTG’s next generation WatchdogCP™ Mesh Remote Monitoring System once again raises the technology and reliability standard that was set in 2007 with NTG's wireless sensors and powerful website. NTG's “Wireless Mesh Technology” has virtually eliminated lightning damage to the system. It allows unparalleled configuration flexibility so users can economically scale installations to any site requirement. The powerful web interface simplifies multiple rectifier GPS-synchronized interruption, group polling, and automatic report and file generation for compliance reporting.

The WatchdogCP™ Mesh Remote Monitoring System is an expandable system for CP rectifier and test point monitoring and data acquisition. The starting point is the WatchdogCP Mesh Base Station, which monitors up to 16 wireless analog channels and 5 digital inputs. It communicates via GSM cellular or Inmarsat satellite to the Pipeline Watchdog Web Monitor.

Start with simple volts / amps rectifier monitoring and add GPS synchronized interruption at any point. Or add wireless channels to monitor multiple negative current shunts. You can even use a single base station to monitor and interrupt two, three, or even four rectifiers closely spaced in a terminal or tank farm.

WatchdogCP Mesh System Benefits

  • Accomplish compliance reporting from your desk.
  • Eliminate costly travel to remote sites.
  • Improve pipeline integrity with timely outage alarms & reliable data.
  • Save time and money while improving your pipeline integrity program.
  • GSM cellular coverage in over 120 countries!
  • Know your pipeline is protected!

WatchdogCP Mesh System Features

  • Automatic rectifier and test point readings with alarm notification (e-mail or text message).
  • Powerful group interruption WITH REAL-TIME FEEDBACK lowers survey costs.
  • Configurable from the website – no laptop necessary in the field.
  • Low-cost worldwide communication via GSM/GPRS cellular or Inmarsat satellite.
  • Easy-to-use web interface - simple data export to all popular CPDM programs.
  • Easy to install - power via AC mains, low voltage AC or DC, or solar panel.
  • Inputs for intrusion alarm, generator/pump/compressor alarms, electric meter reading, pressure, temperature, tank level, etc.
  • Controllable output.
  • Firmware reprogrammable over the air (GSM/GPRS) or via USB port.
  • Regulatory CP reports are easily generated and exported to all CPDM software packages.

Powerful Website Allows Easy CPDM Reporting and Interrupted Surveys.

Reliable 2-way Satellite Communication in Remote Areas

The WatchdogCP Mesh System uses secure and reliable Inmarsat geostationary satellite network for worldwide communication in remote areas lacking GSM cellular coverage. It has repeatable, low latency (< 2 minutes) two-way communication with the Pipeline Watchdog Web Monitor as opposed to the frustrating and highly variable latency of LEO (low earth orbit) satellite networks.

Solar Panel Ready

A small optional solar panel installs easily to the Base Station for operation where no power is available. Using its internal backup ‘gel cell’ and charge control circuit, the unit can function independently in the ‘Monitor & Sleep’ mode.
