AutoMer with 14" MER Sea Clamp
The AutoMer™ Autoranging Clamp-on Digital
DC ammeter combines automatic range selection and auto zero with Magnetic Error Reduction (MER).
Range and zero are set automatically.
The AutoMer clamps on to measure
vehicular battery cable and gas transmission pipeline direct current
more accurately and faster. It has 1 mA resolution and measures 5 mA to
200 A during normal operation without breaking into the line.
AutoMer works in a desert or 700 ft
underwater with a waterproof extension. Offshore platform anode current
or subsea transmission line current can be measured. AutoMer clips (to
6" diameter) and clamps (to 60" diameter) work in salt water for a long
time.
AutoMer Features
- Automatic selection of measurement
range (2A, 20A, or 200A) within seconds of a change of input
current.
- Automatic zero.
- DC Amp clips constructed to reduce
zero offset error due to residual magnetism in transmission line
pipes or magnets in vehicles. Typical accuracy improvement of 2 to 3
compared to standard meters.
- Current polarity (direction of flow)
shown both on LCD meter and at output terminals.
- Fully portable, with 50-hour battery
and Low Batt icon.
- Automatic zero adjustment and
battery OFF in "Auto" range selection.
- Manual zero adjustment and battery
control in "Manual" range selectionl.
- Optional external battery.
- Clips from 2/3" to 6" diameter and
Clamps to 13" diameter have 1 mA resolution.
- Clamps with 24" to 60" inside
diameter have 10 mA max resolution.
- Typical accuracy is ±1% reading ±3
digits ± zero offset due to magnetism.
- LCD display with 3½ digits
(-1999 to 1999) with 0.5" high numerals.
- Recorder output of is ±2 V at full
scale input on any range.
- Available over-range is available.
- AC current input rejection to less
than 5 mA change with 10A rms, 60 Hz input.
